Pomegranate Paloma (non-alcoholic)

I think I am pretty much obsessed with creating non-alcoholic drinks I can have at dinners and parties. I am, an adult, after all!

I choose to abstain from alcohol because of health reasons and I don’t really miss how I felt after a night of drinking.

What I don’t like though, is going out with friends and having to order a soda and lime. It’s boring. I want a pretty glass with something fun in it. And, I’m willing to pay for it.

I’ve been to some bars where the bartender just “gets it”. They’re more than a bartender in my mind, they’re mixologists! And I appreciate a good one when I find one!

I also don’t love overly sweet drinks. As I’ve become more refined, like my palate, I tend to go for the more spicy, more savory and earthy flavors. After twenty years of drinking I’ve finally developed a liking of dirty martinis. Too bad I don’t drink alcohol right?!

I created this drink as a fun and festive drink for the holiday season. I changed the traditional use of grapefruit in this Paloma (which usually has grapefruit) because many people can’t have grapefruit as it interacts with certain medications. My recipe has a mixture of orange and lime juices to give it that tanginess.

It’s pretty. It’s colorful. It’s not overly sweet and most importantly, it tastes good. If you’re in the mood to try a non-alcoholic drink, give this one a go!
